Aquatica
Orlando’s newest water
park officially opened on March 1st, 2008, with a grand
opening held April 4th. Owned by the Anheuser-Busch
company, which also owns SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, and
Busch Gardens, Aquatica’s theme is South Pacific,
featuring Australian and New Zealand mascots. The park
has hidden grottos, thirty-six water slides, six lagoons
and rivers, and over 80,000 square feet of “beach” area.
There are thrill rides, rides that take you through
animal habitats, and even private cabanas for rent. Call
ahead for reservations, and the cabana will be reserved
for you all day, until park closing. Cabanas include a
refrigerator stocked with 16 beverages and complimentary

Dolphin Plunge
Water slide; live animals. Must be 48” or taller
to ride.
Slide into a Commerson’s dolphins habitat in
Aquatica’s signature ride. [Note: it’s best to
ride in the later afternoon, when the difference
in outside and water temperatures do not fog up
the tubes.] |

Taumata Racer

Slide down on mats and race against seven other

Whanau Way
Raft slides; guests must be able to maintain
proper riding position and hold onto both

Tassie’s Twisters

Slide into a dark tunnel and whirl around in a
funnel, then drop into the lazy river. |

No water park is complete without the
traditional lazy river ride. This one glides
guests past the Commerson's dolphins exhibit, as
well as a grotto filled with beautiful tropical

Roa’s Rapids

For those guests who think the lazy river is
too… well, lazy, this river is relaxing but much
quicker, with rapids, speed zones,
geysers, and more. |

Cutback Cove and
Big Surf Shores

tall waves, while Shores has gentler, rolling
